Lostwithiel, situated in a beautiful wooded valley at the tidal reach of the River Fowey is within easy reach of both coasts, the moors and is well placed for exploring the county. ’Debtors Prison’ part of the old Duchy palace remains as one of the remnants of the original splendour of this town. The house has had numerous identities since it was built, but has kept this name due to the bars still in place on the top floor.
